About Us

Community Impact

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California is committed to being a role model for accountability and transparency in the nonprofit sector. For more than two and a half years we led extensive work, supported by the UniHealth Foundation, to determine and measure our impact on the families we serve through our mission of providing comfort, care and support to children and families in Southern California. Based on our work we have established annual metrics that we monitor closely to evaluate our own performance and progress in meeting our mission.

We express our mission through five Ronald McDonald Houses in Bakersfield, Loma Linda, Los Angeles, Orange County and Pasadena. We have a sixth House under development in Long Beach and we operate two Ronald McDonald Family Rooms at CHOC Children’s Hospital in Orange and CHOC Children’s at Mission Hospital. Importantly, we are also one of very few Ronald McDonald House Charities chapters across the world that operates a cost-free, medically-supervised Camp for children with cancer and their families, Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times. Our camp program functions year-round and was designed to help children rediscover their self-esteem, self-reliance and independence after experiencing cancer. A schematic summarizing the impact these programs have on the families and children we serve is shown below.

We hope that your review of the following information about Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California will give you even greater confidence in making a decision to support our mission and any one of our programs.
