As a McDonald's owner/operator and Ronald McDonald House® Orange County (RMHOC) board member, Sharon Frisbie Macdonald carries on her family legacy of service.

Tim’s medical journey began before he was born when he was diagnosed with Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID), a rare genetic disorder that left him without a functioning immune system. Shortly after birth, he suffered a stroke that resulted in significant physical challenges. At just two months old, Tim underwent a life-saving bone marrow transplant to rebuild his immune system. His older sister, Alexandra, became his donor, giving her little brother the extraordinary gift of a second chance at life.

Meet the Slagle Family. After daughter Lilly’s third battle with croup turned into an extended hospital stay, the doctors led her family to rest and recharge inside Ronald McDonald Family Room® while she recovered.

When their newborn son was rushed into a battle for his life, the Navarette family traveled from Bakersfield to Pasadena in search of the care that could save him, and the support that would help them endure the scariest moment of their lives.
